Trailer for Glass: a Portrait of Philip In 12 Parts, a documentary about the famous contemporary composer (who is often mislabeled as "minimalist"). I first heard the name Philip Glass when he was mocked in a South Park episode in 1997. Soon afterwards, I saw Martin Scorsese's Kundun and bought its excellent soundtrack. This led to his Errol Morris scores, Koyaanisqatsi, his Bowie/Eno symphonies, and much of the rest of his back catalog. I'm a fan.

Egads! Godfrey Reggio, Philip Glass, and Ron Fricke -- i.e., the team behind the amazing Koyaanisqatsi -- are working on a new project: Savage Eden. I can't really figure out what it's about.
Update: An interview with Reggio and Glass says it's about "consumerism and fundamentalism" and will be the first Reggio film to use actors.
Update 2: And how could I miss this? The fourth collaborator is George Meyer, the most involved Simpsons writer and producer out there. This only makes it stranger.

The people include Shawn Fanning, Susan Sontag, Iggy Pop, Donald Trump, Tom Brady, Laura Bush, Philip Glass, Lou Reed, Michael Gorbachev, Harvey Silverglate, Laurie Anderson, Kenneth Arrow, and a bunch of other people, famous and non-famous.
