Governor spotting
Spotted last night at the recently opened Whole Foods in Reno: Governor Gibbons shopping with his former Playboy model girlfriend. In 2004, I encountered Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver, and one of their children shopping in an upscale Malibu boutique, so I've now run into both the Nevada and California governors during "family" time.

Did you attempt to approach him but were turned away by his security? "Gentlemen, there is no need to approach the Governor."
Did you say anything? That man needs to be called out!
No, we left him alone. It was sort of different meeting Schwarzenegger, because 1) Gibbons is less famous than Schwarzenegger; and 2) there were other people in the grocery store. When we encountered Schwarzenegger, it was really just him, Maria Shriver, his kid, and a plainclothes guard.
I remember us being addressed as "guys" rather than "gentleman".
We did say hi as he walked out of the store. He did not look at us but said "yeah, yeah, hi" while walking briskly by. We did have a good conversation with his kid about cars, way before we knew who he was. Then, after he was out of earshot, we discussed kidnapping him.
