Grindhouse to be split up?

There are reports that Grindhouse will be rereleased as two films in the US. Well, that pretty much negates my entire commentary on the film.

Oddly although I liked Death Proof in the context of Grindhouse, I would be really disappointed with it had it been marketted as Tarantino's next film.
