Only 86. I suck. I literally forgot about Poland.
Yeah, I remembered Poland in the final 30 seconds or so, but had entered Latvia and Estonia within the first minute. Weird.
I also knew the names of a few former Russian republics, but had a hell of a time spelling them. Kyrgyzstan, anyone?

I had started to write Armenia when the time expired.
CM threw me by saying we needed full names. What do you mean by that?
My girlfriend had her phone on hold on speakerphone and the tv, so I worked under distractions.
I felt pretty bad as CM crushed me. Felt better when I saw I beat Jon May, as I think he is damn smart.
Full names like Democratic Republic of the Congo.
yeah, but you didn't need to put Federal Republic of Germany. And North Korea sufficed as a county.
that's just because there's two congos right now.
A team I cobbled together from the department (an international relations scholar, a comparative politics scholar, and myself) could only get to 147 in the ten minutes allotted.
I'd be curious to see the 45 countries your expert team missed. The Maldives?
84. I can't believe I forgot Djibouti.
I can't believe I still have the worst score. If it wasn't obvious that taking the test again would give totally non-representative results, I'd be memorizing that list.
82. FanTent still has the worst score, albeit by one point. Does it matter that I had to look up how to spell Kazakhstan?
I can do all 192 in 6 minutes 5 seconds. The secret is visualizing the globe in your mind and following the same path throughout to ensure you get each and every country each time. The biggest mental barrier is completing the feat the first time, probably like Roger Bannister's breaking the 4 minute mile barrier in the early 1950s. Once you do that, it's easy to improve on the time until you get quite fast at it.
