Disney's Nazi cartoon

"The Story of One of 'Hitler's Children,'" an anti-Nazi propaganda cartoon made by Walt Disney. It doesn't take away from the accusations that Disney was a Nazi sympathizer, but putting that aside, what disturbs me a little about this cartoon is the implication by specificity that only Nazis engage in brainwashing. Also, what's with that picture of Goebbels? (via boing boing)

how did a man who was 5'5", club-footed, and (initally) socialist-sympathetic rise to such power in a regime where robustness was an obsession?

How interesting you put that up, because we were just discussing it in a political psych class I'm taking (literally within the past week). Disney has consistently fought to have that hidden from public view. I was going to post it on YouTube, but that seems moot at this point.

what a beautiful piece of animation - the lighting throughout is fantastic.

i wish they wouldn't try to hide it; it's part of history, for chrissakes. instead, i wish they would revive their 2-d department. i like cgi as much as the next guy, but c'mon.

oh, and we need pixar to do one of these about north korea.
