50 Lost Movie Classics
The Guardian lists 50 lost movie classics -- great movies that for one reason or another have been culturally forgotten. I've seen two, Top Secret! and Bamboozled, neither of which I thought were great. Still, there are some interesting looking movies here. (via scanners)

Those last few put my total to 4 (Cutter's Way, Millions, Robin Hood, and Beautiful Girls) although I've seen parts of Less Than Zero on tv. CM, I find it hard to believe that you never saw Disney's Robin Hood.
CM, weren't you IN the stage version of Disney's Robin Hood. I've seen a bunch of them. I actually really liked Bamboozled. I would call it a failed vision, but it was great at times. Millions was pretty great until the last act.
You're right, I have. Make that three.
How's Cutter's Way?
Bamboozled and Robin Hood.
Bamboozled had a lot of problems, but there were a lot of things in there that was brilliant. Plus, he stole my idea, so I like to give myself a lot of credit for coming up with it.
The Swimmer, The Parallax View (which I actually did not like very much), 3 Women, and of course Robin Hood. I had Robin Hood on Beta and must have watched it at least a dozen times growing up.
Oh no. Beta.
i saw part of two lane blacktop and didn't find it all that great, but my roommate adores it.
I've seen five on the list. I don't think any are overlooked classics...
the ones I liked the most were Top Secret (funny, but not a classic) and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. Although I must say that Fire Walk with Me probably only flies with Twin Peaks fans. It did have perhaps the single most scary.creepy scene I have ever seen in a movie-- making it quite notable for me.
Save the Last Dance-- no way that movie is underrated. The authors of this article were off-base with that assessment.
I followed a link on that Scanners blog to list of top 10 lists and apparently I have to watch Half Nelson, Pan's Labyrinth (really?) and the Clint Eastwood WWII movie. Who knew?
Yeah, Pan's Labryinth looks awesome. I'm still hesitant of those Eastwood movies, though. Mystic River was praised as well, and it was IMO a terrible movie.
Wait, did he make more than one WWII movie this year? I just assumed it was some sort of a split title/subtitle kind of thing.
Yes, Flags of our Fathers came out a few months ago and is about American soldiers coming home from Iwo Jima. Letters from Iwo Jima , which hasn't opened wide yet, is about the battle from the Japanese side, and was filmed mostly in Japanese.
i don't remember a prarie home companion making as many waves or notable mentions until altman died. i'm still planning on seeing it, though. neither of the eastwood films interest me much, for some reason. i guess i'm not a big war movie fan.
