Regret the Error 2006

Regret the Error has published their always fun Year in Media Errors and Corrections for 2006. For some reason, I like this one:

A story in the July 24 edition of the Sentinel & Enterprise incorrectly spelled Sheri Normandin’s name. Also, Bobby Kincaid is not a quadriplegic. We regret the errors.

But look for the Alito one as well.

It's not fair to put British tabloids in the running. Their screwups are so much more salacious than ours.

I was going to say that the British newspapers shouldn't count, they AIM for errors. Also, I was going to comment on the Alito one, but you already mentioned it. Otherwise, they were fairly dull.

i dunno, the sports one about the Senators outshitting the Padres had me laughing pretty hard.

Once they had this one a few years ago, all the rest of the corrections seem dull by comparison:

"

It has come to the editor's attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission.

"

yes but that was done to be poignant, it's not like jew jersey which is sort of unintentionally funny on the part of the correction itself.

I personally enjoyed the one which clarified that "Oregon Health & Science University will be studying the effects of meth, not cooking it."

On December 14th, Crazymonk incorrectly titled a reference to an article on media errors. The title should not have been Regert the Error. We regret the error.

On December 17th, Jon May's posting was intended to be humorous - it was in fact tedious. We regret the error.
