Sacha Baron Cohen interview

An excerpt from the Rolling Stone interview with Sacha Baron Cohen, as himself.

The joke is not on Kazakhstan. I think the joke is on people who can believe that the Kazakhstan that I describe can exist -- who believe that there's a country where homosexuals wear blue hats and the women live in cages and they drink fermented horse urine and the age of consent has been raised to nine years old.

Great stuff CM. Did you see the thing in salon that dissected what was real and what wasn't? http://www.salon.com/ent/feature/2006/11/10/guide_to_borat/index.html

It sort of took the fun out of things, but it was interesting to see behind the curtain nonetheless, and it got me excited for the DVD which is bound to have tons of deleted scenes. I love the stuff about the heavy chair.

The naked fat guy from the Borat movie came in to eat at my restaurant today. Best celebrity sighting evar.

I finally saw, Boverated. It was mildly amusing and I definitely feel now that
it's not easy for some people to tell it is a joke. Kahzakztan (sp?) should
be pissed.

Who can't tell it's a joke? The retarded? I think Bilo even knows it's a joke.
