Stylus's Top 50 Live Albums of all Time

Stylus Magazine last week listed their Top 50 Live Albums of All Time. The top three, not surprisingly, come from Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and the Talking Heads.

I would have included at least two additional albums on this list:

1. The Complete Ella in Berlin: Mack the Knife. Ella's rendering of "How High the Moon" is one of the most amazing vocal performances I have ever heard, and her version of "Mack the Knife" is hilarious and indicative of her talent for improvisation(she forgets the lyrics halfway through the song and just makes up her own). Simply brilliant.

2. Jerry Lee Lewis's "The Greatest Live Shows On Earth." The title says it all.

I probably would've added Nina Simone somewhere in there.

I've never heard any live Nina Simone, but I agree with you in principle.
