First I cut out cardboard in the shape of a person and looped some string off the back so I could hang the cardboard torso from my neck and the cardboard legs from my belt loop. Then I took pictures of my body, one photo for my chest, two for my legs. Blew them up on the computer, printed them out in a mosaic, glued them onto the cardboard and walked around.
Oh, and I did the same with my face and made a mask that I could rest in front of my face (but I couldn't see anything when I did that, so I generally just carried it around with me).
I had to make sure that I had a Corona in my real hand, otherwise the illusion was blown.
It actually looked really good, and was fairly easy to do once I got the hang of it (there were two or three botched attempts at figuring out how to print an image that wasn't all weird and distorted). Next year I might use the technique again to go as someone else. It was sad that the scariest costume at the party was my ordinary face.
you always have the best ideas. i'm going as a mexican wrestling executive.
Would those people raised by she-wolves be considered feral children?
OK, you can't just start linking to random wikipages in absence of some event or publication. if that doesn't violate some secret rule of the CM community, I may have to find myself a new boyfr-...blogger. (that being said, I'm still glad it created a venue for me to see DF's excellent costume.)
Wow! First I read the disturbing stories of feral children, and then I more disturbed by DoorFrame's costume. I want to know more about the boy who became alpha dog.
what's the CM community? sorry if this reveals my ignorance. i think it should stand for "cyber man."
You're too young to understand.
And too short.
CM=something that begins with C and ends in razymonk.
wow, we have our own abbreviations and cliches and everything now. It's like we're a nascent fark. CM FTW!
All your Mustard Men, are belong to us.
hey, DoorFrame, how do you know? I might be twelve feet tall. Anyway, maybe crazymonk is a code name for cyberman. You guys don't know.
I made up the phrase 'Crazy Monk'. If anybody is going to know what it stands for, it's going to be me.
crazymonk.org is owned and operated by Marco Carbone, currently located in Reno, NV. Questions and other interpersonal attempts should be directed to crazymonk@crazymonk.org.
Not as Halloween-y as my costume this year. I went as myself.
Very disturbing. Explain how you did it.

Or, possibly crazymonk. But probably me!
