Trailer for Old Joy

Trailer for Old Joy, a movie ostensibly about two friends who go hiking, starring Will Oldham AKA Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and with a soundtrack by Yo La Tengo. Intriguing, but not to be confused with Gerry or Old Boy.

I don't recall hearing about Gerry before, but I just grabbed the plot description from IMDB:

"A friendship between two twenty-something men--both named named Gerry--is tested to its very limits when they go on a hike in an impossibly large desert and forget to bring any water or food with them."

What the hell? Has anyone seen this movie? I need to know how that scene goes.

"Scene" -- hah!

Gerry is an awful painful experience of a movie. I don't suggest
it. Not much happens.

Seriously, how far could you get in the desert before you realize that you FORGOT to bring water?

Here's a plot summary:

It should be noted that people go out on short hikes all the time in the desert w/o bringing water, beleiving that they won't be out long enough to warrant carrying it around.
