The Davids of TV
Triggered by an email I received, I just realized that all of my favorite television writers and producers have the name David: David Chase, David X. Cohen, David Milch, David Simon, and Larry David. Also, they're all white males (unless you subscribe to jbg's school of thought).

Was it an email listing everyone named David?
Yes. It was very long, and single-handedly filled up my gmail account.
what about David E. Kelley?
I'd love to hear Larry David's thoughts on his whiteness.
He's hit or miss.
I knew Larry David's cousin in high school; do you think I should email him and ask?
Sure, why not? It just needs to be one line- "Does or does not Larry David consider himself white?"
my guess in larry david's case is that he would consider himself "white" when needed for comic purposes (e.g. "i'm such a lame white guy), but that his natural paranoia stems from his feeling of "jewishness" superseding his "whiteness," (e.g. "they're all looking at me funny because i'm jewish.")
which is how i feel most of the time. which is why i hardly ever feel white.
ps, you must like some tv writers not named david.
sure, but i was generally thinking of writer/creators. but george meyer is a genius. larry charles is pretty good. jj abrams, joss whedon, and aaron sorkin have their moments, and so do matt stone and trey parker.
aaron sorkin does not *have his moments.* aaron sorkin kicks the asses of everyone else mentioned in this post.
Even the guy I knew in high school?
especially the guy you knew in high school.
