Google mail hiccup
I just got an email from myself on my gmail account that I never actually sent. The subject is a seven digit number and the body a three digit number. (I won't divulge them in case it involves a security flaw.) Thinking it could be a Google-wide hiccup, I asked my officemate if he had received the same. He has, with different numbers. Anyone else get one of these? And if so, any idea what happened?

I didn't get one.
It sounds like somebody sending spam with a poorly configured program. Sounds kind of like this, actually.
But it came from *my email address.*
Actually, I just checked the headers and it came from perrier.org. I guess it could be a spam thing, but it's strange that my officemate got it at the same time.
i got nothing neither.
"perrier.org?" perrier is SUCH a .com
I got one. (Although I noticed that when I opened the message, it said it came from my userid rather than my name, which was another clue that it was spam.)
Nope. I didn't get anything of the sort. I feel left out.
i AM perrier.org.
hey G, if it makes you feel more included, i was left out too.
hi, geoff w a G. i miss you. you totally stood me up in vegas in march. i guess i'm ready for a truce, though. for the record, i was also left out.
Flea, i feel much more included now. when's albany? And jen with a j, you know I still love you lots. come to binghamton!
i got one today and was rather perplexed. (and a little troubled that my spam filter was going to start blocking messages i send to myself.) here's a screenshot of the bugger. seems like one of those inexplicable/ineffective spam things, as described on boingboing occasionally, but i have no clue. any word from google?
Hey, the body of my message was 969 as well...
More data: A friend of mine got one to his non-gmail account as well as his gmail account.
I got it too. Curious about what happened...
