Mushroom over Vegas

I may've missed the most recent implosion, but I'll do everything in my power to view and photograph the mushroom cloud that will be visible over Vegas in the first week of June.

the russians have been notified? Oh, right, like they're the country most likely to get jittery when we test a large bomb. Talk about antiquated foreign policy.

I'm sorry, I'm sure that the scientists have it all covered and such, but I don't care, I can't imagine how it's possible to SEE a mushroom cloud without simultaneously being POISONED by it. I would be very creeped out by the idea. That said, I would also probably watch it.

It's non-nuclear. The mushroom is just caused by the large explosion.

Hence, no poison.

I don't always think before I talk. Let's just leave it at that.

[...] Update on the 700 ton June 2 explosion on the Nevada Test Site. It’s no longer clear that the test is non-nuclear, which I can’t quite understand. Don’t we have a Test Ban Treaty? In any case, I still hope to see the explosion, even if they’re now saying it won’t be visible from the city. [...]

[...] A flash video proposing that bunker busters could have negative unintended side effects. The more I learn about the explosive test planned for June 2nd 60 miles northeast from my home, the less excited I get. (via lvgleaner) [...]
