The New Yorker on Bill O'Reilly

I only read through the first part of
the article, but I am impressed to find
out that Bill O'Reilly gets twice the
number of viewers that Larry King does.

That was extremely interesting, and actually made me more sympathetic toward the guy than I had been previously. His personal history reminded me of John Zigler from "Host."

Also:
Cable is not a medium for providing information, and it is not going to become one anytime soon.
True, but a pretty strong statement considering that it comes from a pillar of the print media.

while he is certainly despicable for a number of reasons, possibly his worst crime is furthering the public image of one ann coulter, who is the reason the word "cunt" was invented.

Did anyone else find the vivid revenge fantasy in his book "Those Who Trespass" a little disturbing? If writing like that had been found in a high-schooler's desk, she would be suspendend and forced to see a psychiatrist and O'Reilly would applaud.
