Thank you, thank you!
My prediction, lost standing, often bally-hoo-d, is coming to pass.
Everyone should be in awe of my predictive abilities. They might be genetic.
should have read long, not lost. oh well.
Also, ballyhoo is TOTALLY the wrong word. My skills are not in word selection or typography, merely prediction.
if the veep resigns, how is the new one selected/promoted/whateva?
I think Bush picks the new one, and Congress has to approve.
Bush appoints, the Senate confirms.
Could he appoint Arnold? Arnold seems
to be on his way out of California
anyway. Or would naturalization
requirements still be in effect?
Alas, no, that would be unconstitutitonal -- the limitations for President are the same for Vice President.
And don't be so sure that Arnold is on his way out.
Looks like it's an uphill battle for
Arnold though:

I don't think Condilyeee (as Al Franken says it) is too likely though... certainly the Republicans would want someone with a more realistic chance of progressing to the presidency.
You say that as if President Bush makes decisions with what's best for Republicans in mind. As you might be able to tell from the current political situation, institutional Republicans are beginning to realize that Bush is much more concerned with loyalty and power than traditional conservatism. His decision won't necessarily be good for Republicans.
Well, that is a possibility. But I am not sure that Bush is as freewheelin as you say. Many presidents care about their reputations, and I think Bush falls into the category. I want to watch the ABC interview tommorow night if I can remember and if it's not on when American Idol's on. I really hope Bush and ABC don't try to compete with Idol.
Oops, my mistake again. It's both houses of Congress, not just the Senate.
gingrich-condi in 2008 is my prediction, trouncing clinton-obama, and securing at least 4 more years of a government of fearmongering and mediocrity.
Yeah, that's much worse than non-fearmongering mediocrity.
sorry, let me amend: 4 more years of a government of HIGHLY FATAL fearmongering and mediocrity.
