Frank Zappa on Crossfire

A video from 1986 of Frank Zappa discussing censorship on the show Crossfire. Apparently, this has been around for awhile, but I had never seen it until today. Watch it to see how far John Lofton is willing to go to censor music and to see Zappa's dismissive responses. Simultaneously scary and funny.

Whatever my opinion might be on free speech, I do think that Frank Zappa's 1980's mustache should be banned.

i hate shit like this because inevitably someone like frank zappa sounds ignorant and unqualified, which is more of a lack of eloquence and proficiency in techniques of debate than from a lack of rationale.

okay, i spoke a little too soon. frank comes back a bit, but he still seems too inconsistent. however, it is fucking HILARIOUS when they talk about "hot for teacher."

I loved when the Washington Times guy said it sounded like a real "laugh riot."
