Early King Kong Review

An early review of Peter Jackson's King Kong. He calls it "jaw-droppingly brilliant" -- but then again, the British *do* overuse that adjective. I still have my doubts. I loved Lord of the Rings, but felt that Jackson made it too bombastic.

I heard that after the success of Lord of the Rings, Jackson swore that he would use TWICE as many Orcs in King Kong. I can't wait to see 'em.

I find it funny that you thought the Lord of the Rings was bombastic. Are you talking
about the overall movie, or the dialogue?

As for Kong, the trailer makes it look
pretty good to me. I typically do not
get existed about large monster movies
either.

Get excited was what I wanted to say, there.

I'm talking about the overall movie, but most of all the score.

Well, then, I guess I agree. But the
dialogue was definitely not pretentious
or wordy and could have used a little more detail I think.

I agree, but then again, I'm a huge fan of the original book.
