Interview with Stephen Gaghan
A surprisingly good interview with Stephen Gaghan, writer/director of Syriana, over at AICN. There are some spoilers, so you may want to wait until after you see the movie. The interview actually made me more excited to watch the movie again (my original thoughts here).

he may have said some good things but i couldn't get through more than 1/3 of that...why didn't moriarty just post the mp3 from his voice recorder instead of bothering to simply transcribe the whole damn thing. there's a reason most interviews don't look like that - cause they're EDITED so they have a little goddamn flow. Do I really care that his cell phone rang? More importantly, do I really want to read a 5 minute question that moriarty asked? He's not the subject, gaghan is. And like in most conversations, the answer to a particular question comes out in bits and pieces and any editor worth her salt will piece them together.
The internet is no excuse to be sloppy. Well maybe blogs can be.
My favorite exchange in terms of absurdity:
M: My nightmares have changed since I had my son. And you got me twice in SYRIANA. Bad. It’s not the death of Damon’s son that does it. It’s the scene where he holds his other son in front of the window all night long that does it.
SG: That’s so funny.
i agree. freaking hilarious.
that's the way of aicn. i've just learned to gloss over the crappy parts.
