Cheneygate

For those not following at home, Cheney's looking more and more like he's behind the whole Plamegate affair. What will Dick Cheney and Spiro Agnew have in common, I wonder?

A big no, no images. Also, you've got that same infuriating "slow down cowboy" message as slashdot when you try to post twice in a row. Infuriating I say.

But you can link to images.

So one thing I missed- what motive does Powell have to incriminate Cheney?
Also, how lovely is it, if Cheney ends up getting busted but Bush can go through these ceremonial motions of distancing himself from his VP and thus get off with basically no problem, so that it's Cheney who's discredited and not the administration itself (crucial in order for Rice to be a real candidate in 2008)? As though by saying "Oh yeah, Cheney was TOO involved in intelligence assembly," we're supposed to believe that the VP actually just took his own initiative, almost like he took the Pres for a ride or something...

I couldn't be happier that I'm not the only one throwing Condi's name around anymore! I'm going to do a little "correct prediction" dance when she's nominated for VP.

Yes, NYT and some other credible media seem to agree that Cheney first told Libby. I'm just skeptical if any of this will really stick --though, I'd be almost more satisfied if it just registered enough in public opinion to contribute to the breakneck race between GOP congress/senate candidates to distance themselves from Bush...thus helping initiate the much discussed, yet to happen, "split" in Republican ranks. It seems that everyone agrees, however, that Judy Miller is a bitch. It's nice how the left and right can come together on some things.
